February 2024 Message

A month has passed since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that struck on January 1. There are still many people in the affected areas living in extremely difficult circumstances. I would like to extend my sincerest sympathies to them once more.

As well as extending those same sympathies to our suppliers in the affected regions who have also been impacted by the earthquake, I fully intend to do all in my power to help them recover and rebuild as soon as possible.

Kojima Industries and its fellow Group companies have many employees who hail from the affected areas or who have connections with the Hokuriku region. I have become increasingly distressed over the past month as I have learned more about the situation in the quake-struck areas.
I have always believed that our employees are our family, and nothing is more important than protecting those employees and their families. Since the earthquake, I have strongly renewed my commitment to that sentiment, and, in addition to calling on employees once more to be prepared to protect life, as a company, we are putting preparations in place for initial responses.

I also feel that, not limited to such disaster readiness measures, we also need to strengthen our initiatives regarding occupational safety.
In the history of our company, a serious accident at our plant in February 42 years ago caused the loss of the precious lives of our colleagues. Usually, we hold our Safety Awareness Month in July, but this February as well, I personally will be conducting safety inspections of our various plants and renewing my resolve, alongside all our employees, to ensure that the tragedies of the past are never forgotten.
Returning to that intention to protect our employees and their families, we will strive for the thorough awareness within the company of “Safety First”.

I am grateful for your continued understanding and support as we strive to be a company you can trust. We intend to strengthen our corporate structure through the hard work of each employee, and devote ourselves to achieving “harmony” with our families and local communities.
