June 2024 Message

Last month, our company marked the 86th anniversary of its foundation.
At the ceremony to commemorate the occasion, I had the privilege of presenting 201 employees with awards for long service. The event was also an opportunity to express our gratitude to our predecessors and senior colleagues who built the foundations of our business and to share among all employees our pledge to pave the way toward the future with our own hands. It is thanks to your support that we are able to commemorate this year’s milestone. I would like to extend my sincerest appreciation to you all once more.

This month is Environment Month as designated by the Ministry of the Environment.
At Kojima, we have continued to pursue environmental activities, such as energy saving and recycling, in the spirit of “mottainai (waste nothing)” and “completing the life of things” that we have held dear since our foundation.

At a time when business activities that are even more attuned to the environment are demanded of us, at All-Kojima, we are promoting a variety of environmental initiatives with the aim of building the three pillars of environmental management, namely “carbon-free society,” “recycling-oriented society,” and “society in harmony with nature.” We have inherited from our predecessors and senior colleagues the ways of thinking and behavior that will bring us closer to the ideal of these three pillars. In all activities for environmental management, while I sense that such thinking and behavior have taken root in our individual employees, I am also aware of our responsibility to pass them on, in a further evolved form, to the next generation.

However, to take the example of carbon neutral initiatives in parts manufacture, in addition to increases in CO2 emissions alongside the future growth in vehicle production volumes, conventional practices of energy conservation and isolated improvements alone are no longer anywhere near enough for us to meet European battery regulations and the numbers expected by our valued customers. For us to reach our goals, the evolution of innovative technologies will be needed. We will continue to bring together the insights, expertise, and flexible thinking of each and every one of our employees to promote operational reforms from an environmental perspective, in our aim to contribute to a sustainable society.

I am grateful for your continued understanding and support as we strive to be a company you can trust. We intend to strengthen our corporate structure through the hard work of each employee, and devote ourselves to achieving “harmony” with our families and local communities.
