Message from the President
July 2024 Message
The week of July 1 is National Safety Week as established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This month is Kojima’s own Safety Awareness Month, during which we are working to raise awareness of safety and further promote safety activities in the workplace under our safety policy of “being able to prevent all workplace accidents.”
As one initiative, last month, we held a safety convention for All-Kojima, at which we reflected on accidents that occurred from last year and into this year, and we vowed that all employees would strive toward a workplace that is free of accidents. As I called for at the convention, it is vital that we strive for the thorough implementation anew of the cornerstone of safety, namely “obeying the rules.” No matter what changing situations we may face, such as changes in work and tasks amid the transformation of the structure of cars and shifts in personnel allocations due to production fluctuations, we must never allow safety to be sacrificed.
For that reason, it is important that we build a workplace culture of Safety First ourselves. Our aim is to create a workplace in which all employees take action that is conscious of leadership, actively share information about sources of hazards and risks, and let each other know when they notice any violations of the rules.
